Brandon Scott Poulos Obituary, Death;- Authorities have identified the individual responsible for shooting seven police officers in San Antonio as 46-year-old Brandon Scott Poulos. Poulos is deceased.
The incident, which appears to have been an ambush, occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the Sonterra Heights apartment complex, situated in the 1800 block of Stone Oak Parkway, near Cornerstone Church.
Prior to the shooting, San Antonio police received a call regarding a suicide in progress at an apartment in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway. Shortly thereafter, a second call reported gunfire, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers were met by a woman who informed them that the suspect was firing shots inside the apartment and was about to exit. The suspect then emerged from the apartment and opened fire on the responding officers, injuring one officer in the leg.
The injured officer was quickly evacuated and transported to a nearby hospital. Poulos continued to fire from within his apartment as multiple teams of officers approached the location. According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department, several officers were struck during the exchange of gunfire.
