Two men were arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing a woman’s car in East Haven.

Jessup Bollinger, 43, and Michael Rubino, 38, both of East Haven have each been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny of a motor vehicle, according to Capt. Joseph M. Murgo of the East Haven Police Department.

Murgo said officers responded to a condo complex on Russo Avenue around 6:45 a.m. on the report of a stolen vehicle and spoke to a woman who said she had gone to the complex to pick up a friend. When she entered one of the units to get her friend, two men who were inside allegedly grabbed her keys off a counter and fled the unit, according to Murgo.

The woman told authorities she looked out the window and saw her vehicle, a Dodge Challenger, being driven out of the parking lot, Murgo said.

The Challenger was spotted in New Haven just after 10:20 a.m., according to Murgo. Bollinger and Rubino were taken into custody and identified as the suspects after officers made a motor vehicle stop, Murgo said.

Both men were held on a $2,500 bond and were expected to appear before a judge on Friday.
