Samantha Gladden Death – Samantha Gladden of Lugoff, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was died following a motor vehicle accident. She has been a member of the Winter Guard since the sixth grade and the Color Guard since the eighth grade. She played the flute in the Lugoff-Elgin concert band and enjoyed the marching band at Lugoff-Elgin High School, where this was her first year as captain. In addition, she has been a member of both the Winter Guard and the Color Guard since the eighth grade. She would never leave home without her most treasured stuffed animal, Soybean, even when she went to compete. She put in a lot of work at her practice, but the love she felt was more important.
Sam possessed qualities like affection, gentleness, and creativity. She delighted in activities such as painting, constructing bracelets, and interacting with her brother and the other children in the neighborhood. She was known for having the warmest hugs in the world and had a soft spot in her heart for animals, especially her dog “Rowdy.”
A memorial ceremony for Samantha “Sam” Reese Gladden will be conducted at the Lugoff First Baptist Church on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.. The Reverend Gene Hancock will preside over the ceremony. Prior to the funeral ceremony, the family will host a visitation at the church from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Donations to the Lugoff-Elgin Marching Band can be made in lieu of flowers if someone so desires.
