Taylor Wilkinson Obituary, Death; – Fisher College is grieving the tragic loss of a student who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood over the weekend, as confirmed by the institution on Monday.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Washington Street at Lenox Street, where two women were struck by a vehicle. They were transported to the hospital, where one of the women, identified by the college as Taylor Wilkinson, succumbed to her injuries. “This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts go out to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her,” stated Steven Rich, president of Fisher College.
Wilkinson, aged 20, graduated from the Edward M. Kennedy Academy for Health Careers in Boston in 2023 and commenced her studies at Fisher the same year. According to Rich’s statement, she was a sophomore majoring in management with a focus on fashion merchandising. She is survived by her twin sister, who is also enrolled at Fisher. The college is providing grief counseling services through its Counseling Center and Health Services Department.
“In the coming days, we will collaborate closely with Taylor’s family to identify meaningful ways to commemorate her memory. We will share additional details as plans are finalized. For now, let us unite as a community to provide comfort to those in mourning and to reflect on the values of kindness, compassion, and unity that Taylor exemplified,” Rich added.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident. The vehicle involved in the collision is described as a dark-colored, compact Mercedes SUV that fled the scene. It is believed to have sustained damage to its front grille and a front light, and is missing the right side-view mirror.
