Gerald Edgman Obituary, Death;- The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified a man who lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 40 East on Friday morning.
According to an initial investigation conducted by the MNPD, the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck reduced speed due to traffic congestion caused by an approaching construction zone on Interstate 40 East near McCrory Lane at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Friday.
Gerald Edgman, a 73-year-old resident of Paris, Tennessee, was reportedly operating a Toyota Camry when he collided with the rear of the pickup truck before entering the construction area. The impact caused the Toyota Camry to overturn.
Both Edgman and a passenger in the Camry were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Edgman was pronounced dead. The passenger suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, as reported by the police.
The 46-year-old driver of the Ford F-150 was unharmed. The MNPD also stated that there was no indication of impairment for either driver.
