John Leonard Obituary, Death; – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who was fatally shot in the northeastern region of Bexar County.
John Leonard, aged 39, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on Tuesday evening, as reported by the medical examiner’s office on Thursday afternoon. His death has been classified as a homicide. Bexar County deputies responded to shooting reports at approximately 8:42 p.m. in the 6800 block of Oldham Drive.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered a blue sedan with the driver’s door ajar and Leonard lying on the ground nearby, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies initiated life-saving measures, but first responders who arrived shortly thereafter took over CPR efforts. Unfortunately, Leonard was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Witnesses indicated that they heard several gunshots and observed multiple individuals fleeing the scene on foot. A juvenile was apprehended in the vicinity for questioning; however, no arrests have yet been made.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is appealing to anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
