The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the Frayser area.
According to MPD, officers responded to a call at approximately 2:04 p.m. regarding a shooting in the 1600 block of St. Elmo Avenue, near North Watkins Street.
Upon arrival, they discovered a victim deceased at the scene.
The incident unfolded near a gated property at the intersection of St. Elmo Avenue and Maritavia Drive, where a significant police presence and an active crime scene investigation were observed.
At this time, no suspect has been identified, and authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
