John Olson,Steven Hall Obituary, Death; – The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office announced on Wednesday the identification of several individuals who lost their lives in distinct accidents over the past few weeks. Two of these fatal incidents occurred on January 10.
John Olson, aged 85, succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision reported shortly before 7 a.m. on January 10, on US Highway 51 northbound in Windsor. According to the medical examiner, the resident of Pardeeville died as a result of the injuries incurred in the accident.
Steven Hall, 25, also died from injuries sustained in a crash reported around 11:30 p.m. on January 10, in the 40 block of N. Union Road, located in the Town of Rutland. Officials indicated that a forensic examination was completed on January 13, and further testing is currently in progress for the Stoughton resident.
A third fatal accident took place on December 19, 2024, at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 19 and Barman Road in the Town of Springfield. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that James Pingel Jr., 55, died from injuries sustained in this incident. The Stoughton resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office disclosed the identity of a Madison man who was struck by a vehicle around 7 p.m. on December 9, 2024, near US Highway 12 westbound at Todd Drive in Madison. The agency reported that Samuel Lytle, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene, with the cause and manner of death still under investigation. Authorities are continuing their inquiries into these accidents and the four fatalities involved.
