IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Another hospital in the Charlotte metro is tightening its visitor restrictions as respiratory illnesses continue to rise.
On Tuesday, Iredell Memorial Hospital announced children under the age of 14 will not be permitted to visit patients effective Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Hospital officials said any child under 14 should only visit if they are seeking medical attention. Siblings are permitted on The Birth Place only, with no age restrictions.
“Exceptions may be made in special circumstances, such as visiting a family member
who is in end-of-life care, but must be arranged with the patient’s care team,” Iredell Health said.
Anyone with a cough, cold, fever, or sore throat is asked to not visit any hospital patients.
