A tragic shooting in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy late Sunday evening, January 12.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of East 56th Street and Hoppensack Avenue.
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim has been identified as Elijah Harris, a resident of Cleveland.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene and transported Harris to MetroHealth Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the teenager succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading to the shooting.
