Celinda Levno Obituary, Death; – A flight attendant from Phoenix was tragically killed in a stabbing incident at Denver’s 16th Street Mall, as confirmed by her representative.
The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, which represents American Airlines flight attendants, reported that Celinda Levno lost her life while on a layover in Denver. Levno began her career in 1989 with America West, which later merged with US Airways and subsequently American Airlines in 2013. The association characterized Levno as someone who cherished her horses, friends, and family.
“We extend our support to Celinda’s family, friends, and our colleagues in Phoenix Inflight as they navigate this senseless tragedy,” stated the Association of Professional Flight Attendants in a press release. The union also announced that crews currently on layover in Denver would be moved to a hotel near Denver International Airport, despite the stabbing not occurring at the layover hotel.
NEWSCHAIN contacted American Airlines and received the following statement on Sunday:
“We are devastated and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague, who fell victim to a senseless crime last night. Our thoughts and support are with her family, loved ones, and colleagues, and we are committed to assisting law enforcement in their investigation.”
Denver police reported that a man was taken into custody late Sunday night in connection with four stabbings that occurred over the weekend. At approximately 5:17 p.m. on Saturday, Denver police responded to a stabbing at the intersection of 16th Street and California Street. Levno was found and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Sunday.
Two additional men were stabbed on Saturday night but are expected to recover. A fourth individual was stabbed late Sunday night in the 1600 block of Market Street and was also pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of this victim has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities do not believe there was any prior connection between the suspect and the victims before the stabbings. Anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the stabbings is encouraged to come forward.
