Adam MacLean Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot during an officer-involved incident in Round Rock on Tuesday.
The Round Rock Police Department has identified the suspect as 50-year-old Adam MacLean, a resident of Round Rock. In line with departmental procedures, SWAT Officer Nathan Sosa, who has been a member of the Round Rock Police Department since 2020, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Texas Rangers, in collaboration with the Round Rock Police Department, are conducting an investigation into the shooting. On January 7, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a 911 caller reported an erratic driver who had crashed on Westinghouse Road near Texas Crushed Stone. Following the crash, MacLean fled into a wooded area, where he was subsequently located with the aid of drones.
Upon discovery, MacLean opened fire on the drones and the officers present. During the confrontation, one officer discharged their weapon, striking MacLean. Additionally, it was reported that MacLean sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
