A man has been convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at a beach in Milford after befriending her through a rideshare app.

Tyrone Craddock, 50, of Bridgeport was found guilty of one count of first-degree sexual assault following a trial in Superior Court in Milford, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice. The verdict was returned by a jury on Tuesday.

According to DCJ officials, Craddock met the 16-year-old girl through a rideshare app. He would allegedly drive her and her friends around after befriending them over the course of multiple years. The friends would allegedly drink or smoke marijuana during the car rides.

DCJ officials said Craddock sexually assaulted her outside of his vehicle at Walnut Beach in Milford on May 24, 2019. He was arrested about a month later and remains held on a $625,000 bond, court records show.

Craddock is scheduled to face sentencing on Jan. 6, 2026.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Mary SanAngelo and Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Alanna Paul, with the assistance of Inspector Herbert Johnson, Paralegal Specialist Chelsea Meehan and Victim Advocate Ramika Fountain.
