Joe Haasen Obituary, Death – In 1998, Joe began dating the woman who would become the love of his life, Anita, and the couple has been married for 22 years. They spent their free time on cruises in the Corvette, going on walks around their property, playing cards, going on vacation to Aruba, and watching the sunset at Grand Bend.
Because of the love that these two people had for one another, they were able to bring their respective families together and create many beautiful moments together throughout the years.
Ryder, Nash, and Macey, together with Griffin, Colton, Ari, and Dani, will never forget their Opa and will miss him very much. Joe is the biological son of Henrica Bastiaasen and the late Ties Haasen (1973), as well as the step-son of Pete Bastiaansen (2001), who passed away in 2001. Brother to John (Therese), Rita (Ken), Jerry (Nancy), and Matt (Denise), who passed away in 2010, and Elly (2010). brother-in-law to the late Adrian, who was married to JoAnn, Chris, who was married to Brenda, Pete, who was married to Harriet, Jack, who was married to Irma, and Anthony, who was married to Dawn.
Everyone in Joe’s extensive Bastiaasen family, including his numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, will miss him dearly. Joe’s children and grandchildren were his most valuable assets in life, despite the fact that his work was his life’s greatest love.
Joe used to make the joke all the time that if he had known how much fun his grandchildren would be, he would have had them sooner. Everyone who knew Joe will have their lives changed forever as a result of his passing.
We will keep the memories of Joe, Dad, and Opa alive by remembering the important lessons he taught us about life and bringing them with us everywhere we go.
