On Monday, Manchester police investigated a stabbing that occurred in the downtown area. As a result, several roads in the city were closed.
After receiving a call about a stabbing that took place at the Residence Inn on Lake Avenue, the police went there. Officers reported discovering a male in the lobby suffering from the effects of stab wounds. The man was taken to a hospital, and it is unknown what the status of his condition is at this time.
After being stabbed at the Christos Kalivas Apartments on Chestnut Street, the victim walked to the neighboring hotel which is just across from the SNHU Arena, according to the investigators who were looking into the incident.
When people in the area got up this morning, they saw police tape at their front doors. “It’s just almost become a daily routine to hear the ambulances, police, and watch the news and wonder,” one local resident named Linda Heath said.
The police have stated that it does not appear that the stabbing was random, and they believe they have identified everyone who was involved; however, there has been no information on any arrests being made. The inquiry was still underway, and the authorities had blocked off a number of highways. Both Chestnut Street and Lake Avenue were shut down between Pine Street and Elm Street, and Lake Avenue was shut down between Central Street and Cedar Street. There was no information available regarding how long the routes will remain closed.
Throughout the morning, investigators could be seen searching the surrounding area’s streets and shrubs with evidence markers that had been spread throughout the ground. Heath mentioned that this neighborhood in Manchester is where she grew up, and it makes her sad to witness the high rate of violent crime in the area that she calls home. She stated that the stabbings and shootings have reached an almost daily frequency. “The violence” “Do you realize how terrifying it is? I no longer go out after dark, and I don’t go out before light, but even when I’m inside, I glance out my window to see what’s going on.
