Lamar Good Obituary, Death; – Ohio officials have reported that a 16-year-old boy tragically lost his life on Wednesday after falling through the ice of a frozen pond while ice skating with his younger brother. The Summit County Medical Examiner has identified the teenager as Lamar Good. Authorities indicated that the incident occurred near Fulton Road at approximately 10:40 a.m.
Firefighters noted that the boy’s younger brother witnessed the event and promptly notified family members. “The 5-year-old exited the ice and heard a scream. He turned around and saw his brother in the water,” stated Wayne County Sheriff Tom Ballinger.
A neighbor residing on the property where the pond is situated also contacted 911 for assistance. According to officials, the 16-year-old fell into the pond’s deepest section and remained submerged for about 10 minutes before emergency responders arrived.
Rescue teams successfully retrieved the teenager from the water. Despite the administration of CPR and his immediate transport to the hospital, he unfortunately did not survive. The medical examiner has classified Good’s death as accidental.
