Petrina Williams Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian succumbed to injuries shortly after being struck by a vehicle in northern Charlotte on Monday morning, as reported by the police department.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Petrina Williams. The incident occurred on January 6, around 7 a.m., on Reagan Drive in proximity to Interstate 85.
According to law enforcement officials, a Ford Transit traveling west on the road collided with Williams while she was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk. Emergency medical personnel transported Williams to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased later that morning.
Police indicated that at the time of the incident, Williams was dressed in dark clothing, and the conditions were characterized by darkness and rain. Reports indicated that neither speed nor impairment contributed to the collision. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Ford remained at the scene throughout the investigation.
