Lawrence Mancuso,Anne Mancuso Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identities of three individuals who were fatally shot on Friday in what appears to be a murder-suicide incident.
Law enforcement responded to a residence on Hollyvale Drive at approximately 11:55 a.m. following a report of an unresponsive girl found on the front porch. The girl, later identified as 11-year-old Anne Mancuso, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries from gunshot wounds.
Investigators discovered a bullet hole in the adjacent home, where they found two deceased individuals. The victims were identified as 53-year-old Lawrence Mancuso of Brighton and 74-year-old Mary Liccini of Avon, who was Anne’s grandmother. The investigation revealed that Mr. Mancuso had taken the lives of his daughter and Liccini before ending his own.
According to police, Anne Mancuso resided on Hollyvale Drive, while her father lived in a different location within Brighton.
Chief David Catholdi remarked on Friday that the incident appeared to be “a tragic case of domestic violence.” Anne Mancuso was a student in the Brighton Central School District, as noted in a statement released on Saturday by Superintendent Kevin McGowan.
Words fail to capture the depth of sorrow we feel. I write to you with a heavy heart, struggling to express our grief, horror, and empathy during this time. We extend our deepest condolences and reaffirm our commitment to support one another as a Brighton Family.
Annie was cherished by her friends and teachers, known for her kindness, sweetness, and beauty in every aspect. A thoughtful and caring student, she was a remarkable friend and a true gift to her family, friends, and school community.
I find it difficult to convey to Annie’s mother, Sarah, and her father the extent of our sorrow. The serene calm of a winter morning was violently shattered yesterday in our neighborhood, resulting in the loss of an extraordinary child and her grandmother. The circumstances are beyond comprehension, embodying the essence of tragedy and surrealism.
