The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has named Darien Robertson, 23, and Garineisha Richard, 24, as the two accused perpetrators. Both Richard and Robertson have been charged with crimes; Richard with aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon and Robertson with felony aggravated assault and evasion. The Humble City Jail is holding Richard, while the Harris County Jail houses Robertson.
On Wednesday about 1:30 p.m., the suspects allegedly approached a woman as she loaded goods into her car outside a Costco in Humble, took her purse from the front seat, and shot her. A lieutenant with the Humble Police Department stated that the woman had been released from the hospital. Robertson and Richard allegedly fled the scene of the shooting in a stolen car and made their way to a Waffle House on Will Clayton Parkway, where they waited for police.
Richard, according to the police, allegedly jumped out of one stolen vehicle and into another before using the second vehicle to ram into responding patrol cars. That is where she was taken into custody.
During this time, Robertson fled from the police and led them on a high-speed chase of up to 100 miles per hour for about 10 minutes before he crashed his car and ran into the Haverstock Hills Apartments on Aldine Bender Road.
Police said he emerged from one of the units and voluntarily turned himself in. When this allegedly happened, Robertson was out on two felony bonds. Richard was wanted for breaking the terms of her probation, thus an arrest warrant had been issued for her. On Friday, both of them must appear in court.
