Jesse Rutt Obituary, Death;- Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual found deceased on Monday in the waters of an underground quarry within the borough.
The remains of Jesse Rutt, a resident of Walnutport, were located at 11:34 p.m. near the Slate Heritage Trail in the 300 block of East Church Street, as reported by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office on Thursday.
Coroner Dan Buglio indicated that an autopsy was conducted on Thursday morning; however, the cause and manner of death remain under investigation, pending further forensic analysis.
According to the Walnutport Police Department, Rutt was last seen on Friday, November 29, and the department had solicited assistance in locating him through multiple posts on Facebook. The investigation is being spearheaded by the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Criminal Investigation Unit, as stated by Trooper Nathan Branosky.
The coroner’s office is collaborating with various agencies, including Lehigh County Emergency Management, Slatington Borough Police Department, Walnutport Police Department, Slatington Borough Fire Department, and Walnutport Fire Department, to aid in the investigation.
