CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One hundred and ten people lost their lives to homicides in 2024, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department says.
The number could change if any homicides are ruled justified, but it is a greater number of murders than each of the last three years’ totals.
The final week of 2024 saw five homicides. One on Christmas Day, three on Sunday, Dec. 29, and one on Monday, Dec. 30.
