Tim Hunt Obituary, Death Cause – on August 10th, at the age of 63, passed away unexpectedly. Timmy Hunt was the much-loved spouse of Cathy Smith Hunt and the doting father of Jim (Mary), as well as his sons Tommy and Jim. Tim was known as “Poppy” to Tommy Leo and Bridget Hunt, and they had a lot of affection for him. Twenty of his nieces and nephews, as well as ten of his great nieces and nephews, looked up to him as their favorite uncle.
Brian, who was married to Annie, Kelly, who was Terry’s widow, Dan, Tom, who was married to Tammy, and Neal, who was married to Jes survive Timmy. Tim received his diplomas from both St. Ignatius High School and the University of Dayton, which is known as the “Harvard of the Midwest.” During his time at Ignatius, he was an important contributor to the basketball team and was a pitcher on the baseball team who earned All-City honors. He threw two no-hitters throughout the course of his career.
Throughout his whole life, he remained an avid supporter of St. Ignatius athletics, participating in both the school’s basketball program as a volunteer and as a season ticket holder. Throughout his career, Tim was known for being a trustworthy and devoted team member. Outside of work, he was very involved in the charity efforts of the organizations that he worked for, and he had a genuine interest in assisting people who were in need.
Tim could be found teaching, observing, or encouraging his children, their friends, and many others who participated in sports when he wasn’t caring to his yard. When he wasn’t with them, he was with others.
Tim served as the Rocky River Little League’s Vice President and had been a member of the league’s Board of Trustees for a significant amount of time. Tim attended services at St. Christopher Parish throughout his entire life.
In addition to being active in the community of St. Christopher, he coached baseball, basketball, and football for the Catholic Young Officers. On Thursday, August 17th, at 11:00 a.m., a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher Church, which is located at 20141 Detroit Ave. We ask that you meet us at the Church. Lakewood Park Cemetery was chosen for the interment.
