LANDIS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An investigation is underway after an early morning fire at an apartment complex, according to the Landis Fire Department.
Around 4:30 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, crews responded to the Landis Apartments at 1355 Mount Moriah Church Road about a structure fire. When they arrived, they saw a multistory residential building on fire, which spread to another nearby building, officials said.
The blaze was quickly controlled and there were no reported injuries. Landis Fire is leading the investigation into the cause of the fire with the help of the Rowan County Fire Marshal’s Office, NC State Bureau of Investigations, and the NC Office of State Fire Marshal.
Rockwell Rural FD also responded to the scene Tuesday morning and noted it was a three-alarm fire on its Facebook page.
