CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 18-year-old has been charged with murder months after a deadly shooting in east Charlotte, according to Mecklenburg County court records.
Omar Rashad Teasley has been charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Rashaka Prince. He’s being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond.
The shooting happened around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, in the 6000 block of Cattail Court. CMPD said as officers arrived at the scene, they found Prince who had been shot.
Prince was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased, CMPD said.
Teasley was taken into custody and booked into jail on Monday, Dec. 30. He has his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
