CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS)— Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers responded to ten street takeovers this past weekend, which resulted in multiple arrests, citations, and a chase that damaged patrol vehicles and injured an officer, according to a press release on Monday.
Officials say CMPD issued five citations, four for spectating a street takeover and one for participating in a street takeover.

During the takeovers, law enforcement seized three vehicles, one of which was stolen. Officers arrested two people for possession of stolen vehicles and one person for resisting, delaying, or obstructing an officer. They also seized one firearm.
One person tried to flee the scene during one of the takeovers, which initiated a chase that resulted in two patrol cars damaged and one officer injured while attempting to stop the vehicle. The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by the Charlotte Fire Department.
