Angelina Gonzales Obituary, Death; – A family member has identified a 17-year-old girl who was fatally stabbed on Friday, December 20, as Angelina Gonzales, a senior at Azusa High School. The Azusa Unified School District recognized her as an accomplished artist and a committed participant in both the cheerleading squad and the wrestling team.
Gonzales was discovered with multiple stab wounds around 10 p.m. in the 300 block of North Solano Avenue, located just west of the Azusa High School West Campus. Paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, as reported by the Azusa Police Department.
This year, Gonzales achieved first place in the 31st District Congressional Art Competition and received the Judge’s Choice Award in 2022. Her artwork has been showcased at the U.S. Capitol, according to a statement from the school district.

The investigation has been taken over by homicide detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. An 18-year-old male acquaintance of Gonzales was apprehended on Saturday, although officials have not disclosed the specifics of their relationship.
