Jerry Yang,Abel Her Obituary, Death; – Oklahoma City Police have disclosed the identities of the suspect and the juvenile who lost their lives during a confrontation with law enforcement on Friday. Authorities responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Hefner Road and N Rockwell Avenue.
According to police reports, the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Jerry Yang, opened fire on the officers and also targeted two children within the residence. One of the children, 15-year-old Abel Her, was killed, while the other sustained injuries. Additionally, an officer was injured due to the suspect’s gunfire. During the ongoing exchange of fire, police state that Yang turned the weapon on himself, resulting in his death by suicide.
The injured juvenile and officer are anticipated to make a full recovery. Both officers involved in the incident, Officer Justin Van Brunt and Officer Zachary Lucas, have been placed on standard administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.
