Dawn Tucker Obituary, Death; – A driver has been apprehended in relation to a three-vehicle collision that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to two others in north Durham on Saturday evening, according to police reports. The Durham Police Department stated that officers arrived at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. on the 5000 block of N. Roxboro Street, where an accident with injuries had occurred.
Investigators revealed that the driver of a 2011 GMC Yukon, identified as 42-year-old Nathane Blackmon from Durham, was traveling northbound on N. Roxboro Street when the vehicle veered across all lanes into oncoming traffic.
The Yukon subsequently collided with a 2009 Honda Accord, operated by 67-year-old Dawn Tucker of Durham, as well as a 2000 Chevy Silverado that was heading in the opposite direction. Tucker was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, as reported by the police. A passenger in the Honda Accord was also taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, although these injuries are not deemed life-threatening by investigators.
The driver of the Chevy Silverado sustained minor injuries and did not require transportation to a hospital, according to the Durham police. Blackmon, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, faces multiple charges, including DWI, driving left of center, and failure to wear a seatbelt, as stated by the police.
