James Russell Death– An investigation into a possible homicide is being carried out by the police in Hickory as a result of the discovery of a man’s body in a hotel.
A man who was 41 years old phoned the police on Wednesday just before 8 o’clock, as stated by the Hickory Police Department.
According to the police department, when officers arrived at room 203 of the Deluxe Inn located on U.S. 70 SW, they found the person who made the emergency call along with a man named James Anthony Russell who was unconscious.
Emergency medical services from Catawba County were dispatched to the scene, where they confirmed that Russell had passed away.
The caller was still there when officers arrived on the scene, and after conducting an investigation, the officers discovered that the victim and the caller had engaged in a conflict before to the arrival of the cops.
According to the police, the caller was involved in a confrontation that left him injured. Emergency medical services sent him to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released on the same day. As of Thursday, no charges have been brought forward in connection with this incident.
