Joshua Hernandez, Death – Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured Tuesday in the Northeast Valley.
Joshua Hernandez, 20, has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. His cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head, a type of murder.
The shooting took place on August 8 just before 11:30 p.m. Police said in section 5200 of Birdstone Courthouse near Owens Avenue and Nellis Avenue. When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds.
Hernandez was taken to UMC, where he died on August 9 shortly after day 1:30 a.m., according to the coroner’s office. Police said the other man was taken to hospital with “non-life threatening injuries”.
Homicide detectives finally took over the case after the shooting.
The investigation has since been filed with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for consideration as an act of self-defense.
No other details have been disclosed.
