The family of Nia Booker issued a statement on Monday, which went as follows: “Our family was grieved to learn of the untimely loss of our daughter, niece, and cousin Nia Booker due to a senseless act of violence. Nia was a caring mother of five children, and she had devoted her life to doing everything in her power to ensure that her children led lives that were full of joy and fulfillment. Any and all acts of violence are abhorrent to our family, and we pray that justice will be served expeditiously.
We also pray that this will serve as a wake-up call to the community about the widespread damage that may be had on the lives of innocent people when there are so many people who have access to guns. In the middle of their loss, may her children find solace and support from those around them, and may her memory serve as a wellspring of fortitude and motivation for those who were fortunate enough to have known her. The investigation, according to the Cincinnati police, is ongoing, and anyone who has any information is requested to contact them at 513-352-3542.
