A man who authorities say was connected to two fatal drug overdoses has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison.

Daqwon Graham, also known as “Seagull” and “Energy,” 31, of Ansonia faced sentencing on Monday in federal court in Hartford, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.

U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver sentenced Graham to 130 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, officials said.

According to authorities, Graham was identified as a large-scale fentanyl distributor in Fairfield County during an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department.

Federal officials said investigators were able to connect Graham’s drug trafficking to an overdose of a man who died in Branford in March 2023 as well as a woman who died of an overdose in Shelton in October 2024.

In January and February, authorities reportedly made multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl mixed with xylazine from Graham, officials said. He was arrested on Feb. 26 after investigators coordinated a purchase of a large quantity of fentanyl and allegedly found him in possession of about 400 grams of fentanyl, federal officials said. Authorities then searched Graham and reportedly found more fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine, officials said.

Graham has been detained since his arrest. During a hearing on July 23, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl.
