Keion Rowell Arrested; – A 44-year-old man was apprehended on Tuesday morning, just days after authorities reported that he had collided with a Massachusetts State Police cruiser and subsequently fled the scene.
Keion Rowell, a resident of Boston, was arrested in Randolph following a manhunt that involved local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as stated by Tim McGuirk, a spokesperson for the State Police. Rowell faces multiple charges, including trafficking in cocaine, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in personal injury.
Law enforcement identified Rowell as a suspect after troopers discovered “trafficking weight narcotic evidence” in the vicinity of the crash site. On Friday evening, around 8 p.m., State Police troopers utilized a Star Chase tracking device on a vehicle that failed to yield in Boston. This tracking device is designed to assist police in pursuing individuals who evade law enforcement.
Troopers later located the vehicle on Thwing Street in Boston, which is a dead end near the Jackson Square MBTA station in Jamaica Plain. As the first trooper approached the vehicle, Rowell reportedly rammed the cruiser multiple times before fleeing on foot. The trooper was subsequently transported to a Boston hospital for evaluation.
