Danny Scott Obituary, Death; – One individual lost their life, and two others sustained injuries in a dump truck accident in Burke County on Sunday, as reported by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. The incident, involving two vehicles, occurred on Sunday, December 8, at the intersection of U.S. 64 and Fisher Davis Road.
According to troopers, a Chrysler 300 traveling south on Fisher Davis Road attempted to make a left turn from a stop sign onto U.S. 64. The driver executed the turn directly in front of a westbound 1975 dump truck, resulting in a collision. Reports indicate that the driver of the Chrysler, identified as 64-year-old Danny Scott, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported the passenger in Scott’s vehicle to UNC Health Blue Ridge with serious injuries, while the dump truck driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Authorities have stated that they do not suspect impairment or excessive speed as contributing factors in the accident, and no charges are anticipated.
