Kenya Merritt of Houston, Texas, died after battling lung cancer on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, he was a very special, kind and loving person. In a tribute shared by Kris Saberg on social media;
“Kenya Merritt – We lost him yesterday to Lung Cancer. They lost him. She lost him. I can’t stop thinking about it. In the middle of the night. In the middle of the day.
How is that possible? He was the most Fit person I knew. He didn’t drink and he didn’t smoke and was obsessive about what he ate and going to the gym. He was a good person and so funny.
And he had her. Steph Merritt was as beautiful as he was handsome and every picture of her she had a sparkle. She was a Ravens Cheerleader.They met some 20 years ago in the gym parking lot and it just started to snow. Like a great meet-cute from a movie. They were made for each other. I worked with him at ADP. He had a mischievous sense of humor and used to talk like a 20’s gangster to be funny. One day he put and trash can on his desk, drew a face on and put a headset on top of it and gave it the nickname of one of our co-workers. When we traveled for training – he was the driver and when he had to drive Carol Vogl Mather around – they would bicker like sibblings and he said ‘ I’m tired of driving Ms Daisy”.
He talked a lot about Steph and we told him he better marry Steph before she figured out what he was really like. And he did. He left ADP to work for the FBI and then had 3 beautiful children (How could they not?) I saw pictures thru the years on Steph’s facebook and would send him messages thru her occasionally. When I saw the urgent prayer request yesterday – my heart sank. My Prayers and love go out to you Steph and your family. Kenya loved you so much ! Keep your sparkle – Kenya would want that. We lost one of the Best“
