Peighton Thames Obituary Canton GA: A softball player and student at the Cherokee High School in Georgia has passed away unexpectedly. The teenager was a talented stdent athlete at the South Cherokee Softball. Thames died over the weekend.

Cherokee coach, Andrew Sampogna wrote; “It’s no coincidence that, in the 2 seasons I coached Peighton Thames at Twin Creeks, we won the championship in each of those seasons.
She was one of the best players I’ve ever had the honor of coaching, and she exemplified what it meant to be a team player and a leader. If she touched that ball with the bat, it undoubtedly was going to go a LOOONG way. She also was beloved by all of her teammates, which makes this such a difficult time for so many.”
