Tylar Michaud Obituary, Death Cause – On the final day of the voyage, when Tylar Michaud went out to haul and set his lobster traps on Petit Manan Point, he came face to face with a dense fog that had covered the coast of Down East Maine.
Despite being only 18 years old and hailed from a little fishing village in Steuben, the fisherman was accustomed to the routine. He had grown up in the area.
As he spent his childhood on the ocean with his family, his stepfather Bryant Kennedy, a lobsterman who comes from a family that has been in the trade for four generations, instructed him on how to gather lobster.
During this time, he spent a lot of time on the water. On July 21st, however, there was an issue with the system that needed to be resolved. It was discovered that night that Michaud’s boat, the F/V Top Gun, was cruising in a leisurely arc while still in gear, but there was no one aboard the vessel. The discovery was made as night fell on that particular day.
It is still going on almost two weeks later, despite the fact that his family, friends, and other members of the tight-knit fishing community have come to grips with the reality that he did not survive and have begun to celebrate the life of the young man who left an unforgettable impact on everyone he met.
This is in spite of the fact that they have accepted the fact that he did not survive and have started making preparations for their future without him.
