Eusebio Solis of Brevard, Florida, who was a member of Brevard Sports Network, BSN, and the athletic director for Cocoa High School has sadly passed away. Eusebio Solis died at 46. The BSN community have taken their time to inform you of the passing of Eusebio Solis, the athletic director for Cocoa. Denise Stewart, the principal of Cocoa Jr./Sr. High, sent an email to the parents of their kids. “The Cocoa High School family sadly announces the death of our beloved Athletic Director Coach Solis,” the email said in part.
Solis, 46, was born in Madrid, Spain, and spent his early years in Hampton, Virginia. He played collegiate baseball in a private school (Ferrum College in Virginia) after graduating from Kecoughtan High School as a young man. He later transferred to Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he earned his degree in 2004. In addition, Solis had a key role in the opening of The Dingers Training Centre in Rockledge and the founding of Club321 Baseball. “This is not an announcement we ever anticipated making,” Dingers stated in a Facebook statement. We will always love and miss you, Eussie, brother.
Solis lead the Space Coast Viper Baseball team to three District Championship games after rebuilding their program. The Vipers finished as runners-up twice and won one, which was the program’s first-ever district title. He instantly guided Cocoa to five wins in his debut season after taking over a baseball team that had only won two games in the three years prior to his arrival.
Students affected by the loss can receive support from Cocoa’s own counselling experts as well as members of a Crisis Response Team. When Solis took over as Cocoa’s athletic director in late July, he got immediately to work trying to generate funds for the team. Solis worked tirelessly to help in any way he could, and he created a QR code that could be used to directly generate money through Brevard Public Schools.
He also made time to spend some time with BSN in the broadcast booth during the Barbecue Bowl’s third quarter this past Friday night in order to talk about Tiger athletics and promote the QR code.
“Your heart was so enormous! You were instrumental in the founding of Dingers and Club 321 and had a strong desire to teach children baseball. “You were a wonderful person all around, a friend to many, and someone who would do anything for anyone.” You had a greater influence on young athletes than you ever knew. You departed from us too soon. We don’t have all the answers or all the facts, and words can’t describe it, but know that you are adored and greatly cherished by a great number of people as you soar above us and start to watch over us from heaven.
“His friends, coworkers, students, and family will all miss him terribly. It is well understood as adults the significant impact that comes with losing a friend or loved one. His funeral plans and obituary will be communicated at the right time by his family.
