Jason’s passing has left a profound void in the lives of his wife, Heather McKay Shields, and their three young boys. To support the family during this challenging time, close friend Ann Marie Pirnat organized a GoFundMe campaign, calling for community aid. “Please help bless Heather and the boys in the wake of Jason’s passing. They will need our support in the coming days, and this is one small way we can assist them as a community,” the campaign message read. The fundraiser, with a target of $20,000, quickly met its goal, reflecting the deep love and respect the community holds for Jason and his family.
Jason was a familiar and cherished presence on the sidelines, cheering on his sons at every football, hockey, and lacrosse game. In the words of one tribute, “You could have been anywhere in the world, but your favorite place to be was with your 3 boys, whether on the sideline or in the stands of any of their games. Now you get to watch them all from a bird’s eye view. We love you.” Another friend shared, “He was such a good person and friend to so many in our community. Heather, you and the boys are in my sincerest thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by so many.”
Jason’s legacy will be carried on through his family and the many lives he touched. The Shields family extends its gratitude to everyone who has shown their support and love, knowing Jason’s impact will be forever felt
