Evan Way Death: Missing 21-year old Williamsburg VA Resident & William & Mary student found dead – We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Evan Way, a 21-year-old student at William & Mary and resident of Williamsburg, VA. Evan was found dead after being reported missing, and while no foul play is suspected, his passing leaves a profound impact on the community.
Evan graduated from Manchester High School in Midlothian, VA, and was pursuing a major in data science with a concentration in algorithms at William & Mary. He was a highly active and engaged member of the campus community, participating in a wide range of clubs and activities. Evan was involved in the Skateboarding Club, WCWM 90.9 FM Radio, the Tabletop Roleplaying Games Club, Science Fiction & Fantasy Club, Costuming Club, and the Anime Club. His passion for these interests and his positive energy made a lasting impression on his peers and friends.
During this time of grief and sudden loss, the university is providing resources to support anyone in need. Staff at the Care Support Services Office, the Counseling Center, campus ministers, and other support offices are available to help. The Counseling Center will remain open through 8:00 p.m. today, and counselors can be reached anytime by phone at 757-221-3620. Additional support services are also accessible through TimelyCare, which provides 24/7 emotional support and counseling.
Once Evan’s family has finalized memorial arrangements, further details will be shared with the community.
