Samuel Flint Car Accident, Shinnston, WV, Lincoln High School Student died in crash On October 11, 2024: On Friday, October 11, 2024, Samuel Joshua Holyfield Flint, 17, of Shinnston, abruptly passed away. He was born in Clarksburg on March 20, 2007, the son of Rebecca Alexis Maversa Isabel Holyfield Taylor and her husband John from Pittsburgh, and Joshua D. Flint of Shinnston.
Along with his brother, Adam Fleming of Morgantown, he is also survived by his grandparents, Walter R. and Donna Flint of Morgantown; his aunts and uncles, Deborah Wright of Clarksburg; Marc Samuel Holyfield II; Cornelius Holyfield; Samantha Holyfield; Elijah Holyfield; Jessica Holyfield; Isabel Holyfield; Tiffany Sidberry; Whitney Flint and companion Paul Wolfe; Amber Cogar and companion Abram Edison; Tyler Dillow and wife Brenda; and Cierra Wolfe and husband Cody; along with a number of cousins and his cherished dogs, Cash and Scout.
Samuel was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Paula Mavis Holyfield, Nina Alice Cole, Edna Leona, who was also his closest friend.
At Lincoln High School, Samuel was an extremely involved member of the Senior Class. In addition, he was a dedicated and passionate member of Lincoln Athletics, participating in a number of teams including basketball, football, track, cross-country, and wrestling. Samuel liked to play video games and work out at the gym. He was making good money and progressing quickly at Chick-fil-A. Samuel was well-prepared to pursue a career in physical therapy. He will be cherished for his witty sense of humour and his numerous friends.
On Monday from 2 to 8 p.m., friends may visit Perine Funeral Home, located at 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston. Pastor Michael Holyfield, his great-uncle, will preside over a funeral service on Tuesday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
