Family and friends are mourning the unexpected demise of a Houston, Texas resident and mother of two who died suddenly. Christa Bauer Gilley passed away this week leaving her husband and two children heartbroken.
“20 years simply wasn’t enough. I will always miss you CB. To anyone lucky enough to have been in her orbit, you know what a gem this world lost. Kind, smart, driven, loyal, loving, fun, sister, daughter, wife, mother, friend- any hat she wore she did it well. Until I see you again, I will remember you in everything I do. Mad love,” a grieving friend of Christa Bauer Gilley wrote.
Christa Bauer Gilley was a dedicated wife to her high school sweetheart Lee Gilley. The couple who married in 2017 attended the same Clemson University in South Carolina. During their senior year, the Clemson alumni connected through a shag dance class.
Eight years later, on a second date in Boston, the couple reunited after their first date ended in separation. What a wonderful thing meant to be! Eleven months later, on a plane from San Diego to Houston, Lee shocked Crista with a proposal. The William Aiken House served as the reception venue after the wedding, which was held at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Houston is currently the couple’s home.
