Chris Bowen Death – CFFR 660 News Radio Anchor and Managing Editor Chris Bowen of Calgary, Alberta has sadly passed away. He died on Monday 31st July 2023 leaving those that knew him in shock and disbelief. He was announced dead through a post that says “We are heartbroken over the sudden loss of our dear beautiful friend, Chris Bowen, who passed away on Monday July 31st, 2023”. The actual cause of Chris Bowen’s death has not been disclosed at the time of this report.
Chris Bowen Early Life
Chris Bowen was a native of Kitchener, Ontario but resided in Calgary, Alberta. At the young age of 12, Chris embarked on his broadcasting journey, co-creating Kitchener Waterloo’s inaugural youth-produced radio program, which aired on CKMS-FM. This remarkable venture lasted for an impressive five years. Seeking to further hone his skills, Chris ventured to Toronto, where he pursued formal education in broadcasting. Upon completing his studies, Chris kickstarted his professional career as a junior reporter at CHAT-TV in Medicine Hat.
Eager to explore new avenues, he transitioned to the morning show at MY96-FM in Medicine Hat. His talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, leading him to join the newly launched 660News in 2006, where he continued to shine in the broadcasting world. Chris was an exceptionally approachable individual with a great sense of humor and quick wit.
His intelligence and non-judgmental nature made connecting with him effortless, leading to instant and lasting friendships. Throughout his impressive 17-year tenure at CityNews 660, Chris forged numerous lifelong bonds with colleagues and acquaintances. The radio station became the starting point for many of these enduring relationships. As time went on, Chris’s talent truly shone when he took to the microphone as a producer, and later, as Managing Editor, his skills and leadership in the management position were evident.
