The Bloomsburg Police Department is investigating a shooting on Friday. Three people have been injured in a shooting that happened on Iron Street on October 4, 2024. According to reports, a heavy police presence is currently on Iron St and Fair Street in Bloomsburg, PA.
The Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital was placed on a lockdown as precautionary measure following the incident. Locals have been urged to avoid the Iron Street as multiple officers are on the scene for investigations.
Tonight at approximately 6:13 P.M., October 4, 2024, 911 dispatch received a call from an address on Robinwood Lane for a shooting report.
According to EMS Director Chuck Almond, emergency personnel and law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene to find a 34-year-old female deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and one 35-year-old man injured from a self-inflicted gunshot injury.
Law enforcement agencies said the man was airlifted to AnMed Health System where he later died. The other family members do not appear to be injured following the incident.
