The victim of a shooting in North Austin has been identified by the Austin Police Department. The shooting incident happened at the Research Boulevard 12000 block on October 1.
Nathan Ockleberry was located with another individual in a parking lot at roughly 2:40 a.m. with gunshot wounds, according to the APD.
Shortly after three in the morning, Ockleberry, 17, was declared deceased at the scene. The status of the other individual discovered at the scene is unknown, but they were sent to a nearby hospital.
Another individual was shot, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
According to the APD, the inquiry revealed that a huge gathering of persons convened in several cars at this parking lot, when a disturbance turned violent.
After shooting Ockleberry to death, the suspect fled the scene in a car. The inquiry is still on.
