A 33-year-old woman died on September 24, 2024, after a deadly cycling accident. The victim has been identified as Chanel Charette, a resident of Ottawa. Based on the details surrounding the female cyclist’s death, the Ottawa Police Homicide Unit has charged a 25-year-old male with Dangerous Driving Causing Death.
Chanel Charette, aged 33, was riding a bicycle on September 24 when she collided with a car being driven by an individual at around 2:30 in the morning.
The woman left the scene and went to the hospital, where she remained for a few days before passing away on September 26. Tony Bere, an Ottawa resident, is accused of killing someone while driving carelessly. On September 29, he is scheduled to appear at a show cause hearing.
