A body was discovered in an encampment close to Interstate 5 on Friday morning, and the Washington State Patrol (WSP) is currently investigating the death as a homicide.
The corpse was discovered at approximately 9 a.m. by encampment resolution workers who detected a distinct odor of decay while entering the area at the intersection of I-5 and I-90 to clean, according to WSP. According to WSP, the place used to be a campsite on land that was owned by the state, but the campers have since left.
The victim’s gender and age are unknown at this time, according to authorities. Plus, they have no idea when they passed away. Officers from both WSP and Seattle arrived on the scene. The decision was made for WSP to conduct the homicide investigation.
