Jackson in the early hours of Thursday morning. The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) has confirmed Jackson’s identity, according to a statement from KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
Early Morning Shooting at Gas Station
Just after midnight, at approximately 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a call reporting gunfire near a gas station in the 2200 block of E. 31st Street. When police arrived on the scene, they found Jackson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the gas station parking lot. KCPD detectives are conducting interviews with witnesses and are analyzing any available surveillance footage from the gas station and surrounding area. While no suspect details have been released at this time, investigators are working to establish a timeline of events and identify those responsible.
Sgt. DiMartino assured the public that law enforcement is working tirelessly on the case. “We are committed to pursuing every lead to bring justice to Freddie Jackson and his loved ones,” he stated.
