Trista ‘Firecracker’ Stordahl began practicing mixed martial arts as a child and was identified as a prodigy at the age of 5. By the age of 14, she was competing and winning tournaments, leading to voluminous articles she is written about in San Luis Obispo, where her family lived.
In November 2017, at the age of 14, Stordahl won the USA Fighting League Championship in the 140-pound weight class. She trained in Muay Thai, Kumite, Jiu-Jitsu and Hawaiian Kempo, among others.
She graduated from Atascadero High School and earned her college degree three years ago. Stordal continued to train and fight in MMA until her tragic death in a car accident in September 2024.
A fundraiser for her funeral has raised about $5,000 so far.
“I am asking you to pray for Tim, Tierra and their entire family who are certainly going through this tragedy. We know how close they are and how generous this family has always been with their love, time and resources. Please give generously.” Stacey Emock, who started the fundraiser, wrote next GoFundMe.
