As a result of the shooting that happened in Alpharetta, Georgia, one person died, which is why the police started an intensive search for the suspect.
The incident happened late Wednesday night near the intersection of Highway 9 and Milton Avenue, sending shockwaves through the normally peaceful community.
Alpharetta police were called to the scene around 11 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 46-year-old Justin Urning suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, Mourne was rushed to a local hospital but tragically did not survive his injuries.
The shooting happened after authorities believe there was a verbal altercation between Morning and another person. The exact nature of the dispute is unclear, but police confirmed that the argument turned deadly.
At this time, investigators are working diligently to piece together the events that led to the shooting, interview witnesses and review any available surveillance footage from the area.
Alpharetta police have identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting. The suspect, described as a man wearing a distinctive black jacket with white patches, black pants, a helmet and gloves, was last seen fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect with a firearm, raising public safety concerns.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, but police are urging anyone with information about the man or his whereabouts to come forward. His appearance on a motorcycle, in a different outfit, provides authorities with key clues in the Mourning family’s quest for justice.
